Mayor Entebbe Municipal Council, Uganda |
18/12/2017 Dear Delegates, In 2018, the Municipality of Entebbe will have the honour of being the host of the Twenty third Standing Conference of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa Library and Information Association (SCECSAL XXIII). We are very proud of this fact since Uganda hosted SCECSAL twice – in 1990 and 2004. Uganda is again hosting the conference after 14 years. Entebbe will have a great opportunity to host SCECSAL for the third time in Uganda when it is forty (40) years. Since 2004, a lot of changes have taken place in the Uganda Library and Information Sector. From 23rd -28th April 2018, Entebbe will proudly exhibit her hospitality, cultural richness, beautiful beaches, Botanical gardens and wildlife. Entebbe was the capital city of Uganda during the colonial period. Therefore, it has a lot of history to learn. Entebbe is full of positive energy. The dynamic economic development, innovativeness, rich history and cultural diversity make Entebbe a place where every delegate of the conference will find something of interest for them. I therefore invite you to Entebbe and to take part in the memorable conference which is an extremely important event, both for Entebbe and Uganda and the region. Uganda eagerly looks forward to your participation! Sincerely, PDF copy of the orginal letter
