Mrs Mmamfi Bess JENKINS is a senior teacher (Library) at Linchwe II Junior Secondary School, Botswana, a school offering education to students with visual impairments. She holds a Masters in Archives and Records Management and Bachelor of Library and Information Studies from the University of Botswana. She is currently pursuing PhD in Information Science (University of South Africa). She has presented in several conferences including ESARBICA conference in 2019 held in Botswana. Her areas of research interests are: Assistive Technologies, Information Access, Electronic Records Management, Disability and Education. |
Ms. Anna LEONARD is a Librarian: Research Support Services at the University of Namibia (UNAM), Windhoek, and serves as a member of the UNAM Press Editorial Board. She holds a Master’s degree in Information Science from the University of South Africa. Her expertise and responsibilities include development digital scholarship & research support services, research evaluation, metrics analysis and managements of electronic resources in academic libraries. 2012-2018, she worked as an E-resources Librarian at UNAM. She also worked, on two positions, as Cataloguer and Subject Librarian at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (2009-2012), and 2008 at National Library of Namibia. |
Mr. Andrew MALOTLE is Project Director, LIS Special Project Office at the National Library of South Africa (NLSA). He holds a BA Communication from the University of North West (UNIBO), South Africa, and post graduate studies at the University of Free State, South Africa. He holds several further education certificates in project management, public relations, Public Finance Management Act (PMFA), Management and Leadership programme. He worked as Library Assistant and later in the student administration at UNIBO, Student Affairs at Tshwane University of Technology (Setlogelo Technikon), Public Relations Practitioner at Vista University Bloemfontein, and Director Corporate and International Relations at NLSA. |
Mrs. Mercy Wamunyima MONDE is Acting Head of Medical Library at the University of Zambia School of Medicine. She holds a Certificate in Nursing from Lewanika School of Nursing in Zambia, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Library Information Science from the University of Zambia. She has 17 years' nursing experience and interests in evidence-based healthcare, particularly in nursing and consumer health information. She is involved in several health information research and projects to enhance health information in Africa. Currently she is an executive member of The Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa (AHILA). |
Mrs. Mutinta Mweemba NABUYUNDA has over 18 years of experience in Information Management and holds a degree and MA in Library and Information Science. She is currently heading a vibrant team in one of the biggest and modern library facilities in Zambia at the National Institute of Public Administration. Some of her biggest career highlights is the establishment of the second of the two American Corners in the country which have enhanced the provision of free programs and services that promote the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. |
Ms. Anna NGULA works as a cataloguer in the Technical Services department, University of Namibia Library. She holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Library and Information Science (University of Cape Town, South Africa), and an Honours Degree (cum laude), (University of South Africa). Additionally, she is a part time lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Studies at UNAM. Areas of interest include: information needs and seeking behaviour with special focus on disability issues, cataloguing and classification; Metadata, indexing and abstracting and new media technologies. |

Ms Andiswa MFENGU is a Lecturer at the Department of Knowledge and Information Stewardship, University of Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a master’s degree (University of Cape Town) and is doctoral candidate at the same institution. She is an emerging scholar, serving as Vice-Chair of the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA) Library Education & Training Institutions, and the Chapter Assembly Representative for the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Africa Chapter. She was recently awarded the prestigious National Research Foundation funded Black Academics Advancement Programme fellowship. |
Dr. Abebe RORISSA is Associate Professor & Associate Dean for Faculty Development, College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity, University at Albany. Prior to his current position, he worked in Ethiopia, Lesotho, and Namibia as a lecturer and practitioner. He has also consulted for academic institutions, national governments, and international organizations. He has published extensively in leading journals such as JASIS&T, Information Processing & Management, and Government Information Quarterly. He was a member of the Board of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), its Executive Committee, & recipient of the ASIS&T SIG Member of the Year Award. |

Mr Kingsley Nnamdi EGBUKOLE, with 26 years of experience in library and Information Science is currently the head of the university Research Commons at Federal university of technology, Owerri, Nigeria. He previously headed the ICT Unit, the Readers Services Unit and the Research, Training and statistics Unit. He holds a Master in Information Technology (University of Pretoria, S. A.); a Master of Library Science (Imo State University, Nigeria) and a Master of Business Administration (Project Management) (Federal University of Technology, Nigeria). He received a letter of commendation in 2006 for contributions in ICT development from the University Management. |
Ms. Lucy KIANA is currently working for the International University of Management, Namibia as the Acting University Librarian. She has well over 14 years of progressive experience working in academic libraries, in Kenya and Namibia. She has a Master of Library Science from the University of Central Nicaragua and a BTech Information Studies from the Technical University of Kenya. She has published a number of articles. |
Ritva NISKALA is the Deputy University Librarian at the University of Namibia (UNAM), Windhoek, Namibia. Her expertise and responsibilities include development of the library’s quality assurance procedures. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences: Information Studies (University of Tampere, Finland). 2001-2013 she worked for the Namibia Library and Archives Service (NLAS), Ministry of Education as part of the strategic planning team on major public library sector development projects. Before that she worked for a public library network development project at the National Library of Mozambique 1996-1999 and 1999-2001 at the Pandora Box content management company in Maputo, Mozambique. |

Ms. Namutenya HAMWAALWA works as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Directorate of Namibia Library and Archives Service. She has 12 years working experience as a Librarian. She holds a Master Degree in Library Science and a degree in Library and Record Management. Ms. Hamwaalwa has experience in developing library policies, monitoring and evaluation of Library Programs and Service, analysis and compilation of National Library statistics and project management. She is currently the Chairperson of the National Information Workers Association of Namibia (NIWAN). |
Ms Nokwanda Charity KHANYILE is an information science masters candidate within the Department of Information Studies at the University of Zululand, South Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Library and Information Science obtained with merit from the University of Zululand. For her master's degree's research, she is focusing on indigenous knowledge with a specific emphasis on traditional medicine. Mr Martin HIPANGWA is currently serving as a Librarian of National Earth Sciences and Energy Information Centre, Geological Survey of Namibia at the Ministry of Mines and Energy. He has worked in many libraries varying from, academic, special, and public libraries. He has Honors Degree in Library and Information Sciences (University of Namibia). He is currently pursuing a master's degree in library and Information Science at University of Cape Town (South Africa). Mr. Allan KANYUNDO is a Malawiana and Special Collections Librarian, Liaison Librarian in the Faculty of Environmental Science and an adjunct lecture in the Information Science Department at Mzuzu University. He is currently a Master of Library and Information Science Student and holds a Bachelor Library and Information Science from the same University. He has published several articles. He served as an American Corner Coordinator at Mzuzu University between 2005 and 2019. In 2009 he was honoured with an International Visitor Leadership Program visit to the United States of America. |
Dr Margaret ONEN holds a PhD. in Information Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, (South Africa), a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Botswana and a Diploma in Computers System Design & Analysis, ACP London, UK. She worked as Head of the Library Department at Maru-a-Pula Secondary School in Gaborone for many years. She is a researcher and an independent information literacy consultant. Associate Professor Maureen RUST is the Student Engagement and Community Outreach Librarian at the James E. Brooks Library of Central Washington University, Ellensburg, Washington, USA. She has been involved with library projects in eastern Africa since visiting Kenya in 2006 and served on the board of directors of the American Friends of Kenya from 2007-2010. Since 2011 Rust has been involved with the library at Chikumbuso and returns frequently to assist with organization and to train new librarians. |
